A necessity has arisen to directly and accurately inform the public regarding the baseless allegations and news targeting me in recent days.
First of all, I would like it to be known that I am not abroad, I am in Turkey. My communication channels are open, and my address is known... pic.twitter.com/HLNzBBpzKA
Balcı stated that the need to inform the public arose due to the allegations and news targeting him in recent days, and he denied the claims that he was abroad.
In his statement, Balcı included the following: "First of all, I would like it to be known that I am not abroad, I am in Turkey. My communication channels are open, and my address is known."
In his statement, Balcı also touched upon his independent board membership at Özata Denizcilik, arguing that this role was not executive in nature. He stated that he did not have the authority to carry out or manage the company's daily commercial or operational activities, nor to execute stock market transactions.
Balcı claimed that he has never opened an investment account at any bank or engaged in stock trading throughout his life. Therefore, he stated that he has no investments or transactions related to the company shares in question.
STATEMENT REGARDING THE RESIGNATION PROCESS
Balcı noted that he served as an independent board member at Özata Denizcilik for approximately 3 years, during which time he received only a symbolic attendance fee.
Stating that the share sale reflected in the press was not a transaction under the discretion of Özata Denizcilik, where he was a board member, Balcı expressed that the sale was carried out by Özata Tersanecilik with the approval of the Capital Markets Board (SPK). Balcı also said that he became aware of the transaction approximately 15 days after it occurred.
Balcı reported that after becoming informed and seeing the share movements, he expressed his discomfort to the board of directors, communicated his decision to resign verbally at the beginning of August, and officially terminated his duty unilaterally as of the end of August.
At the end of his statement, Balcı announced that he would use all his legal rights against the news and posts he argued were baseless regarding himself and his family, and that he would initiate legal proceedings against those responsible.
