Statement from the Istanbul Bar Association regarding Çağlayan Courthouse: 'We will be there for all citizens'
Issuing a statement regarding the obstruction of lawyers' entry into the Çağlayan Courthouse, the Istanbul Bar Association announced that lawyers will be present at the courthouse at 19:00.

It has been reported that lawyers' entry into the Çağlayan Courthouse, where CHP presidential candidate hopeful and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is set to give a statement at 19:30, has been restricted. Reacting to the practice, the Istanbul Bar Association stated that they will be at the courthouse at 19:00 for İmamoğlu and all citizens.
In the statement issued by the Istanbul Bar Association, it was argued that the right to defense was being violated, and the following remarks were included:
''The extraordinary measures around the Istanbul Courthouse and the obstruction of lawyers' entry into the courthouse are a clear violation of the right to defense. We never accept this restriction.
As the Istanbul Bar Association administration, under these extraordinary conditions, we will be at the courthouse at 19:00 for all citizens in custody, including our city's elected Mayor.''
