Statement from the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the betting investigation into referees

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that the investigation into allegations that some referees participated in betting is continuing in cooperation with the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), the Istanbul Police Department, and the MASAK Presidency.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a written statement regarding the referral of 152 referees, who were determined by the TFF Legal Consultancy to have participated in betting, to the PFDK today.

The statement said, "Regarding the disciplinary referral letter prepared and announced to the public by the Turkish Football Federation in accordance with its own internal regulations concerning the participation of some referees in our country's professional football leagues in betting games, in line with our previous statements, the investigation is continuing under the coordination of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in cooperation with the Federation, the Istanbul Police Department, and our MASAK Presidency, in terms of identifying actions that constitute crimes within the scope of Law No. 6222. Further information will be provided regarding developments."
