Statement from Mayor Tuncer regarding the assault incident

In his written statement, Mayor Tuncer said, "The incident that has been reflected in the public eye in recent days is an unfortunate and saddening event that anyone could face in the course of life.

It should be specifically known that this process is not a situation that emerged as a result of my own choice, direction, or personal action; it is an incident that developed spontaneously and took shape outside of my involvement.

The fact that many people who love me, trust me, and are my companions on this journey have been saddened by the images that have emerged has also deeply affected me. It is also distressing that these images, which I never desired, have been reflected to the public in this way," he said.

"My hope is that this unfortunate incident will be evaluated within the framework of common sense and the law"

Continuing his remarks, Tuncer said, "What is even more noteworthy is that the camera footage in question was leaked to the press by malicious individuals.

There is a strong conviction that this situation is a purposeful attempt aimed more at discrediting me and creating a different perception in the eyes of the public than at the incident itself.

However, despite all of this, I will not be involved in personal polemics or directed debates.

My priority, as always, is to serve Mezitli, to produce solutions to the problems of our fellow citizens, and to continue my duty with responsibility. I am at my post. I am continuing my work with the same determination and at the same pace. My hope is that this unfortunate incident will be evaluated within the framework of common sense and the law," he said.
