Statement from Minister Göktaş: We will do everything in our power

Speaking on the murder of Narin Güran in Diyarbakır, Minister of Family and Social Services Göktaş said, "As a Ministry, we will intervene in the case. We will follow the legal process to the end and do everything in our power to ensure that the person or persons who took Narin's life receive the heaviest penalty."

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Göktaş has spoken regarding the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who had been missing for 19 days in Diyarbakır. 

'WE STAND AGAINST ALL FORMS OF EVIL'

Minister Göktaş answered questions from journalists following the Presidential Cabinet Meeting. Responding to questions regarding the murder of Narin Güran, Mahinur Göktaş added that they would provide psychological and social support and stated the following:

"Ensuring the physical and psychological well-being of our children and ensuring they grow up safely is the issue we are most sensitive about. It is a fundamental human duty for all of us as a society to carry them toward a safe future and to do whatever is necessary for them to grow up with love and compassion. In this sense, we always stand against any kind of evil that our innocent children, the apple of our eye, are subjected to."

'MAY THESE PAINS NOT BE EXPERIENCED AGAIN'

Stating that the judicial process is ongoing alongside psychological and social support, Minister Göktaş said, "Our goal is to ensure that such pains are not experienced again. As a Ministry, we will intervene in the case. We will follow the legal process to the end and do everything in our power to ensure that the person or persons who took Narin's life receive the heaviest penalty. In addition to this, we are continuing our psychosocial support efforts in the neighborhood where the incident took place."
