According to the statement made by the Kandilli Observatory, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in Bolu.
It was reported that the earthquake, which took place at 09:01, occurred at a depth of 2 km.
Geoscientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür evaluated the earthquake that occurred in Bolu this morning.
In his post on his X (Twitter) account, Görür stated, "A 4.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in Bolu-Mesciçele. The northern branch of the North Anatolian Fault (NAF), which broke in Kocaeli during the 1999 earthquakes, did not fully break in the Bolu region and reach the main branch. For this reason, such earthquakes can be expected in these areas".
