Statement from Naci Görür following the Malatya earthquake

Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made a statement on his social media account following the 4.5-magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Pütürge district of Malatya.

AFAD announced that a 4.5-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Pütürge district of Malatya today (November 20) at 10:36 AM.

Pütürge Mayor Mikail Sülük stated that there were no negative incidents reported following the earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 7 kilometers.

STATEMENT FROM NACİ GÖRÜR

Following the earthquake, which was also felt in surrounding provinces, a statement came from Geoscientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür.

Sharing a message on his X account, Görür stated: "A 4.5-magnitude earthquake occurred in Ormaniçi/Pütürge, Malatya. The earthquake is ON THE EAF (East Anatolian Fault) AND IS AN AFTERSHOCK. There is no cause for concern. It is expected to happen. With love."
