Statement from Naci Görür following the 4.4 magnitude earthquake in Elazığ: He pointed to February 6

Earthquake scientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür, in his assessment following the 4.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Elazığ, stated, "These earthquakes are emerging as a manifestation of the February 6 earthquakes in this previously ruptured zone."

According to AFAD data, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in Sivrice, Elazığ, at 00:05.

The tremor, recorded at a depth of 7 kilometers, was also felt in the city center and districts.

Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made a post on his social media account regarding the earthquake, which caused brief panic.

Pointing to the February 6 earthquakes, Görür used the following expressions in his post:

"A 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in Kavakköy-Sivrice/Elazığ. The earthquake is within the East Anatolian Fault Zone. It is close to Lake Sivrice. These earthquakes are emerging as a manifestation of the February 6 earthquakes in this previously ruptured zone."
