Statement from Nevşin Mengü, named in the 'Aziz İhsan Aktaş' indictment: Everyone but you is a nail

In her reaction post, Mengü said, "If that's the case, ask Toper too; did we receive money for the broadcast or not? Now I ask, names supporting the government shared content from places they visited just 3-5 days ago; so they went for free, right... I'm not even counting the names who go to the Culture Road or do PR for municipalities. You have the hammer in your hand, and everyone but you is a nail, is that it?"

The investigation known publicly as the "Aziz İhsan Aktaş investigation," which also led to the arrest of many CHP mayors by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has been completed.

In the 578-page indictment prepared by the Organized Crime Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 19 people are listed as victims.

Among the 200 suspects, 40 of whom are under arrest, are Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat, Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar, Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere, Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, Avcılar Mayor Utku Caner Çaykara, Ceyhan Mayor Kadir Aydar, and Seyhan Mayor Oya Tekin.

JOURNALISTS' NAMES ALSO APPEAR IN THE INDICTMENT

Emirhan Akçadağ, the chief of staff for Akpolat, also mentioned journalists and television channels to which he claimed "corruption money was transferred" in the indictment. In his statement, Akçadağ mentioned the names of journalists, including Nevşin Mengü.

MENGÜ'S STATEMENT ON THE INDICTMENT

In a statement made via her social media account, Mengü wrote the following:

"My name appears in the Rıza Akpolat indictment with the allegation that I received 200 thousand TL. He was a guest on the broadcast during the election period. We also hosted Beşiktaş Mayoral candidate Serkan Toper on our broadcast at that time.

If that's the case, ask Toper too; did we receive money for the broadcast or not?

Now I ask, names supporting the government shared content from places they visited just 3-5 days ago; so they went for free, right...

I'm not even counting the names who go to the Culture Road or do PR for municipalities.
