Özgür Özel makes statement regarding CHP member named in 'Newborn Gang' baby-killer investigation!

The Newborn Gang, which caused the deaths of numerous babies by transferring newborns to private hospitals for illicit profit, has become the top agenda item in Turkey.

An indictment has been prepared against 47 suspects, including CHP Beylikdüzü municipal council member Ahmet Atilla Yılmaz, in the investigation where 22 people have been arrested.

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel made statements regarding the matter.

Speaking at his party's Education Summit, Özel drew attention to the rising incidents of violence and emphasized that no one in Turkey is safe.

"ANYONE WHO KEEPS THEM IN THE PARTY IS A DISHONORABLE, DESPICABLE PERSON"

Reacting to the news reports regarding the Newborn Gang that were circulated to pro-government media by the Directorate of Communications under the Presidency, Özel said, "Reports are being pumped from the Directorate of Communications to pro-government media claiming, 'There are DEM Party members involved in this, there is a CHP municipal council member involved.' If you are going to look so hard, let me say the final word first: If there is a single CHP member involved in this business—not even involved, but within 10 km of it—anyone who keeps them in the party is a dishonorable, despicable person!"

"LET'S NATIONALIZE THEM ALL OVERNIGHT"

Calling on AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Özel said, "Bring them all, let's nationalize all those hospitals overnight. The licenses of all hospitals involved in this business must be suspended. A legal regulation must be passed unanimously by parliament on Tuesday. Come on, I challenge you!"

Özel's statements are as follows:

"You educate a child in this country, they are not safe. They go to university, they are not safe. They get married, they get divorced, they are not safe. They are followed. They go to the police, they go to the prosecutor, they are not safe.

Unfortunately, they are born, and they are not safe. People even say, 'Is it possible to have a child in this country?' and they don't have children; they go and adopt a cat. Even that is not safe.

There is nothing safe in this country. Only the capital of the private school owner is safe. The yacht and Mercedes of the private hospital owner are safe. When something happens to them, friends, they are in action overnight.

But unfortunately, we are facing a very big problem.

If you are going to look so hard, let me say the final word first: If there is a single CHP member involved in this business—not even involved, but within 10 km of it—anyone who keeps them in the party is a dishonorable, despicable person!

If someone is involved in this, the current Minister of Health, who was the Istanbul Provincial Director at the time, says, 'We reported it,' to clear his own name.

The first complaint was filed in May 2023. Nothing happened in the period between May 2023 and October 2024. The gang had access to all the information, even enough to threaten the prosecutor conducting the investigation.

Monsters and murderers are walking among us. They are dragging tiny babies from hospital to hospital.

While this was being done, the former Minister of Health's hospital was right at the heart of it. The person sitting in the health directorate who was supposed to inspect it is now at the top of the Ministry of Health. There are countless people they appointed involved in this.

If a person responsible is being sought, it is not the provincial health director of the time, nor the current Minister of Health, my brother.

If there is someone responsible in this country, as you say, 'I am the one responsible, I am'... You know how to sign every document, you determine interest rates instead of an economist, you know everything. When this happens, you step aside. The Directorate of Communications will identify two names and escape responsibility.
