In a statement on his social media account, Altun noted that despite the ongoing confidentiality of the judicial investigation into the murder of Narin Güran in accordance with the relevant articles of the Criminal Procedure Code (CMK), many national media outlets have been producing irresponsible broadcasts that appear to be manipulative, harmful to the investigation, and rating-focused.

Emphasizing that sensible citizens have also filed numerous complaints with the relevant institutions regarding these broadcasts, Altun stated the following:

"We hereby inform the public that we are closely monitoring these broadcasts, in which the intelligence of our citizens is practically mocked, where individuals who are not experts on the subject engage in hours of baseless speculation, and where respect for the memory of our daughter Narin and the integrity of the investigation are completely disregarded, regardless of the age of the audience, readers, or listeners.

We reiterate our call to all national and local print, visual, audio, and digital media outlets to refrain from such broadcasts that disturb our citizens and undermine the meticulously conducted investigation, and we expect every organization to adhere to the principles of responsible and ethical broadcasting to the maximum extent."
