Statement from the Sakarya Governor's Office regarding the forest fire
The Sakarya Governor's Office has issued a statement regarding the ongoing forest fire in Geyve.

The Sakarya Governor's Office reported that the ongoing forest fire in Geyve is being intensively addressed with 12 helicopters, 6 firefighting aircraft, and numerous ground vehicles and personnel, and that it has been partially brought under control.
According to the statement, the fire, which broke out in the evening hours of July 20, has been responded to in coordination with all relevant institutions from the very first moment. It was stated that while aerial support is being provided to the firefighting efforts with 12 helicopters and 6 firefighting aircraft, a large number of water tenders, heavy machinery, and personnel are working with great dedication on the ground.
It was reported that cooling and extinguishing efforts are continuing uninterrupted in the fire zone, which has been partially brought under control as a result of the teams' intensive intervention.
The statement noted that Sakarya Governor Rahmi Doğan, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Abdülkadir Polat, AFAD General Director of Disaster Response Sadi Ergin, and AK Party Sakarya Deputy Murat Kaya have also arrived at the region to monitor the efforts on-site and ensure inter-institutional coordination.
