Statement from Serhat Akın's lawyer: Justice will be served sooner or later

Ahmet Yaşar, the lawyer for former Fenerbahçe footballer Serhat Akın, who was the victim of an armed attack, has released a statement regarding the incident. Yaşar stated, "The perpetrators and instigators of this attack must be identified and held accountable before the law. No one, whoever they may be, is above the law, and justice will be served sooner or later."

Former Fenerbahçe footballer Serhat Akın was injured as a result of an armed attack he suffered after leaving a program where he worked as a commentator.

Serhat Akın's lawyer, Ahmet Yaşar, made statements regarding the attack and the investigation. 

Lawyer Yaşar's statements are as follows:

The targeting of my client Serhat Akın, especially on social media recently, has seriously threatened the peace and safety of both himself and his family, and unfortunately, this heinous attack occurred in plain sight. Serhat Akın is an individual who has been a role model for society throughout his sports career and personal life, and such attacks harm not only him personally but also the sports community, the values he represents, and social peace. In this process, we have full faith that justice will be served before the judicial authorities.

"JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED SOONER OR LATER"

The perpetrators and instigators of this attack on my client and his friends must be identified and held accountable before the law. No one, whoever they may be, is above the law, and justice will be served sooner or later. In this process, both legal and criminal proceedings will be initiated immediately for all kinds of baseless accusations, threats, and attacks against the honor and reputation of my client and his family.

Furthermore, legal processes will also be initiated against individuals who engage in actions and statements that could cause misinformation that would negatively affect the course of the investigation. The investigation into the heinous attack is ongoing, and it is gratifying that some of the suspects have been apprehended. We thank our Minister of Interior, our Prosecutor's Office, and our Police units. Detailed information will be provided in the coming days.

My client Serhat Akın is waiting for justice to be served with patience and fortitude during this difficult process, and he expects common sense from the public and support especially from sports fans."
