The Governor's Office statement noted that an investigation was conducted into the remarks made by Güloğlu in a video circulated on social media platforms on March 6, in which he stated that police had been sent to his home.
It was stated that as a result of the investigation into the matter, an instruction was issued on February 7 to search the Orhangazi neighborhood addresses of fraud suspects M.M., M.B.M., and B.M., in accordance with the directive of the Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office dated February 6. The statement shared the information that "based on the instruction, research was conducted, and upon the information that the suspect individuals were registered at the specified addresses in the Address Registration System (MERNIS), teams went to the addresses at 11:00 on the same day with sufficient personnel and the neighborhood headman to conduct a search."
Emphasizing that a search was conducted at the address in question, the statement included the following remarks:
"It was understood that the addresses to be searched were villas side-by-side in the same garden, that the house reported as the residence of M.M. was empty, that four police officers and the neighborhood headman went to the address reported as the residence of M.B.M. and B.M., knocked on the door, and Mr. Davut Güloğlu opened the door. Upon his declaration that this residence had been rented approximately three weeks prior by S.A. through a real estate agent from the individual named B.M. (a suspect) who is the owner of the residence, and that he himself was residing at this address, the situation was reported to the duty public prosecutor. Since it was understood that the suspect individuals were not at the address, the teams left the scene without conducting a search, in line with the prosecutor's instructions, and the matter was recorded in a report."
The statement also included the following: "Furthermore, it has been determined that the details of the process were explained to the concerned party in all their aspects by our heroic law enforcement officers, who have no purpose other than to perform the duties assigned to them by legislation, on the date the incident occurred."
