Statement from the Gendarmerie regarding the specialist sergeant who ended his life
The Gendarmerie General Command has issued a statement regarding the specialist sergeant who ended his life with his own service pistol.

Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Ökkeş Gök, serving at the Güneyçam Gendarmerie Station Command under the Şırnak Provincial Gendarmerie Command and the Central District Gendarmerie Command, ended his life by shooting himself with his own pistol in the dormitory at the service building on December 16, 2023, at approximately 19:58.
CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FROM THE COMMAND
While Gök's death caused sorrow, the Şırnak Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident. The Gendarmerie General Command has also appointed an inspector.
In a statement regarding the incident, the Gendarmerie General Command extended its condolences to the grieving family of the late Gök.
