In a statement issued by the Ministry of Family and Social Services regarding media reports that a 16-year-old child was sexually harassed in Görele, Giresun, it was stated: "As the Ministry of Family and Social Services, we have been following the process with great diligence from the very first moment the incident in question was referred to judicial authorities.
In this context, long-term psychosocial support efforts have been initiated by our expert teams for the victimized child and their family," the statement read.
Emphasizing that they stand with the family and the victimized child, the statement continued: "Furthermore, necessary counseling measures have been put into effect, keeping the best interests of the child in mind.
As the Ministry, we will closely follow the ongoing judicial process to ensure the defendant receives the harshest penalty, and we will intervene in the case that will be opened.
With our 'zero tolerance' principle regarding the protection of our children from all forms of abuse, we will resolutely follow the judicial process and continue to stand by our victimized child and their family. Respectfully announced to the public."
