Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the Afghanistan and Pakistan ceasefire

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that an agreement has been reached to continue the ceasefire during talks held between Afghanistan and Pakistan, mediated by Turkey and Qatar.

Meetings were held in Istanbul between October 25-30 with the participation of four countries to consolidate the ceasefire agreed upon between Afghanistan and Pakistan in Doha on October 18-19, under the mediation of Turkey and Qatar.

In a written statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the talks, it was stated: "The parties have agreed on the continuation of the ceasefire. Additional principles regarding the implementation of the ceasefire will be consulted and decided upon at a high-level meeting to be held in Istanbul on November 6, 2025.

The parties have reached an agreement on the establishment of a monitoring and verification mechanism that will ensure the achievement of peace and the imposition of penalties on the violating party.

As mediators, Turkey and Qatar appreciate the effective contributions both sides have made to the process and remain ready to continue supporting efforts toward the establishment of lasting peace and stability."
