Statement from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on the earthquake: Phone traffic increased by 300 percent!

Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan made a statement following the 5.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Gemlik Gulf of the Sea of Marmara, saying, "There are no negative issues affecting communication in general. We are seeing an increase of over 300 percent in our mobile voice traffic compared to normal times, and this increase is continuing."

Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan made statements on his social media account following the 5.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Gemlik Gulf of the Sea of Marmara. Drawing attention to the importance of using SMS, Sayan said:

"There are no negative issues affecting communication in general. We are seeing an increase of over 300 percent in our mobile voice traffic compared to normal times, and this increase is continuing. In order to maintain healthy communication, it is very important that we make internet-based calls and use SMS during such periods of high density."
