Statement from the Ministry regarding the Dardanelles

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has announced that vessel traffic in the Dardanelles has been reopened in both directions.

The 247-meter-long Panama-flagged fuel tanker named 'Paros', which was traveling from Malta to Kocaeli, experienced a mechanical failure off the coast of Gelibolu during its transit, leading to the temporary suspension of vessel traffic in the Dardanelles in the north-to-south direction.

MINISTRY ANNOUNCED, TRAFFIC RESUMED

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure issued the following statement:

''Vessel traffic in the Dardanelles, which was suspended due to a ship breakdown, has been reopened in both directions.''
