Fenerbahçe President Sadettin Saran was detained last night after testing positive in a drug investigation that has become a major public issue.
Brought to the Çağlayan Courthouse this morning, Saran is currently giving his statement to the prosecutor.
Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ spoke about the detention of Sadettin Saran.
Speaking at his party's Edirne Provincial Presidency, Özdağ said, "I have spoken with prominent lawyers. Normally, he shouldn't even have to spend a single day in detention. However, they said the case is political. We are monitoring it closely. We do not want enemy law applied to anyone."
