Statement of the murder suspect who killed 'Ramazan Hoca from Diyarbakır' revealed: 'I don't know Ramazan Pişkin'

The prosecutor's office statement of Erkan B., who stabbed and killed Ramazan Pişkin, known as 'Ramazan Hoca from Diyarbakır', has been released.

Erkan B. stated that he did not know Ramazan Pişkin and that he had mistaken him for S. M., an Afghan national who worked for his father. Erkan B. claimed that his intention in the attack was only to injure him. Having completed his procedures at the police station, Erkan B. was referred to the courthouse.

Claiming that he did not know Ramazan Pişkin, Erkan B. described the murder he committed as follows:

“I earn my living by working at my father's shop in Fatih. I do not know Ramazan Pişkin. I thought he was the Afghan national S. M. I met this person because he worked with my father. He used to invite me to his house. Knowing that I smoked cigarettes, they would give me narcotic pills and substances known as Afghan paste. I would lose myself. I was also sexually abused by these people between 2017 and 2021. I have no complaints regarding this abuse. I only told my family. On the date of the incident, I went there knowing that Ramazan Pişkin was S. M., with the intention of injuring him. When I arrived, I first threw a stone at him. When the stone missed, he picked it up and threw it back at me. In the heat of the moment, I pulled out the knife I had on me and stabbed him in the abdominal area 2-3 times. Afterwards, when I heard shouting, I fled the scene.

"HE WAS CONSTANTLY APPEARING IN MY DREAMS"

I have no connection with any religious group or sect. I attacked him because I saw Ramazan Pişkin as S. M. I first saw Ramazan Pişkin on social media in 2021, before the incident. Later, about two months ago, I saw him at his workplace called 'Çaycı Ramazan Hoca', which is 5 minutes away from my father's shop. I realized he was S. M. He was constantly appearing in my dreams. I bought the knife I used in the crime in Eminönü. I had no intention to kill. I went with the intention to injure. I regret the incident."

Erkan B. was referred to the courthouse following his statement. In the search conducted at the house where Erkan B. was caught immediately after the murder, the knife he used in the crime and his clothes were found.

It was revealed that Erkan B. had a total of 9 criminal records, including 'intentional injury', and that he was also wanted for injuring his mother.
