Statement on cancer drugs from Minister Işıkhan

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated in a post on his social media account, "Following the announcement made by our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, after our Presidential Cabinet Meeting, we will provide significant support to our citizens fighting cancer.

We are including 5 immunotherapy drugs, which are applied against 25 different cancer subtypes in conjunction with the body's own immune system, in the reimbursement coverage of our Social Security Institution.

With the regulation to be implemented, 48 thousand cancer patients will benefit from these treatments.

With this regulation, the number of cancer drugs on the reimbursement list will rise to 784.

We will continue to stand by our citizens fighting cancer in their struggle. I hope these drugs will bring healing to our patients," he said.
