Statement regarding the claim that 'Aziz İhsan Aktaş smoked in the judge and prosecutor corridor'
The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued a statement following allegations that Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who is being tried without arrest on charges of being a criminal organization leader and whose name was mentioned in operations targeting CHP mayors, was allowed to smoke in an indoor area during yesterday's hearings.

The 20th hearing of the 2nd session of the trial, in which 200 defendants, including 7 mayors and 16 who are currently under arrest, are being tried as part of the Aziz İhsan Aktaş criminal organization investigation, was held yesterday. While the proceedings in Silivri were ongoing, it was alleged that during a break in the hearing, Aziz İhsan Aktaş was kept in corridors reserved exclusively for the use of judges and prosecutors and was allowed to smoke.
The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that the allegations do not reflect the truth and issued the following statement:
"It has been observed that news reports and posts have been made on certain news sites and social media accounts claiming that during the ongoing trial of the Istanbul 1st High Criminal Court's case file numbered 2025/364, held at the Marmara Penal Execution Institutions Campus courtroom, one of the defendants in this file, A.İ.A., was kept in the Judge-Public Prosecutor corridor and was given special treatment by being allowed to smoke. Since it was determined that defendant A.İ.A. had negative interactions with other defendants and their relatives during previous hearings of the aforementioned trial, it was decided that A.İ.A. would be kept in the stairwell of the courtroom during hearing breaks. This area is not a special zone allocated to Judges and Public Prosecutors, nor is smoking permitted in the indoor area. The news reports and posts made do not reflect the truth."
