Statement on prison sentence from Minister Koca
Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca announced that the perpetrator of a violent crime against healthcare workers at Edirne Sultan 1st Murat State Hospital has been sentenced to 6 years, 4 months, and 26 days in prison.

Minister of Health Koca stated in a post on his social media account, "The Edirne 1st Criminal Court of First Instance has sentenced the perpetrator of the violent crime committed against two of our healthcare workers on October 24 at Sultan 1st Murat State Hospital with an air pistol and verbal threats to 6 years, 4 months, and 26 days in prison, and has decided that the perpetrator shall remain in custody.
The sentence was issued with a 50 percent increase because the violent crime was committed against healthcare personnel working in public or private health institutions and organizations, and an additional 25 percent increase because the act was committed against more than one victim.
Due to the law, there is no possibility of a reduction in the sentence," he said.
