Statements of suspects in Sarıyer church attack begin to be taken: A striking detail

The prosecution's questioning of the suspects referred to the courthouse regarding the armed attack at the Santa Maria Church in Sarıyer, which resulted in the death of one person, has begun. It was learned that 18 public prosecutors have been assigned to the suspects' questioning process. At the Santa Maria Church in Sarıyer, on January 28, during Sunday mass, two masked suspects opened fire on those praying. 52-year-old Tuncer Cihan, who was hit by the bullets, lost his life at the hospital where he was taken. In the operations carried out regarding the incident, 60 suspects, including A.K., a Tajik national, and D.T., a Russian national, who carried out the attack, were detained. Furthermore, 26 suspects were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for deportation.

The 34 suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.
