CHP İstanbul MP Oğuz Kaan Salıcı's remarks regarding CHP Chairman Özgür Özel have sparked a new debate within the party.
Yücel had stated, "While the tolerance and polite language shown by our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel in the face of your aggressive attitude and reckless statements are evident, do not drag our party further into this ugly and untimely agenda you are trying to initiate. We need to stand in unity and solidarity with our entire group, our administrators, and our members, to support each other, and to further strengthen our party, which is in the position of the 1st party, and bring it to power. I invite you to reason, conscience, and the responsibility of being a party member."
FROM POLAT TO YÜCEL: COMMENTS IN A STYLE DISTANT FROM OUR PARTY'S TRADITIONS
The response to Yücel came from CHP İzmir MP Mahir Polat.
Polat included the following statements in his post on his social media account:
"I read with sadness the comments our party spokesperson made today regarding the well-placed criticisms of our former Deputy Chairman Mr. Oğuz Kaan Salıcı, which were in a style befitting a member of the Republican People's Party, and which were in a style distant from our party's traditions."
First of all, the fact that he could not make any statement to satisfy either our party members or the public regarding the criticized issues has revealed how well-placed Mr. Salıcı's criticisms were. Furthermore, although I would like to reconcile his lack of explanation regarding the subject of the criticisms with party discipline, the tone and style he used in his comments contradict both our party, the personality of our party spokesperson, and the camaraderie we all know existed between him and Mr. Salıcı from the past. I hope that our party members in positions of responsibility will act by considering the corporate identity of our party rather than their own personal ambitions in their future statements at the very least."

KILIÇ INVITES YÜCEL TO LOYALTY
CHP İzmir MP Sevda Erdan Kılıç also reacted to Deniz Yücel.
Kılıç invited Party Spokesperson Yücel to 'loyalty' (vefa) on social media.
Kılıç used the following expressions in her statement:
Following the mandatory statements made by our fellow MP Oğuz Kaan Salıcı, who has previously held high-level positions in our party and whose door many people (!) have worn out for positions and status, the expressions used by our Party Spokesperson Deniz Yücel are noteworthy:
On one hand;
'Pure arrogance'
'Blind ambition'
'State of heedlessness'
'Personal ambition'
'Chasing personal gain'
'Reckless attitude'
On the other hand;
-'Call for unity and solidarity'
-Emphasis on 'reason and conscience'
-'Responsibility of being a party member'
-Language of 'politeness and tolerance'
This contradiction casts a shadow over the credibility of the words. Making a call for unity after targeting someone is incompatible with political consistency. One must rethink either the language of criticism or the call for unity.
We, as members of the Republican People's Party, regardless of what position we hold or what positions we have left, say what needs to be said and do what needs to be done for the sake of upholding the founding values and historical mission of the Republican People's Party.
As our party spokesperson said; if opening a debate on the party congress and criticizing the chairman, party management, and party policies is a state of heedlessness, how should the congress calls and political criticisms made throughout the history of the Republican People's Party be evaluated?
On this occasion, I also invite our party spokesperson to 'loyalty'.
