Storm and heavy rain warning for Marmara from the Meteorological Service

According to the latest assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology; the country is expected to be partly to very cloudy, with showers and occasional thunderstorms expected after noon in the Marmara region, the Aegean coast, Kütahya, Antalya, Bolu, Düzce, Zonguldak, and Bartın. Precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the western part of Marmara and the Aegean coast. Localized fog and mist are expected in the interior and eastern regions during the morning and night hours.

AIR TEMPERATURE

Temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 5 degrees in the northern, interior, and eastern parts, with no significant changes elsewhere, and are expected to continue to remain above seasonal norms across the country.

WIND

Winds are generally expected to blow from southerly directions, light to occasionally moderate, and are expected to be strong and stormy (50-70 km/h) from the south and southwest in the north and west of Marmara and the Aegean coast, and locally strong and full-storm (80-100 km/h) in the Thrace region and around Çanakkale.

HEAVY RAIN WARNING

Since the precipitation is expected to be locally heavy in the western part of Marmara and the Aegean coast, it is necessary to be cautious and take precautions against negative conditions such as flash floods, flooding, lightning, local hail, the risk of tornadoes, and disruptions in transportation.

STRONG WIND WARNING

Since the wind is expected to blow from the south and southwest as strong and stormy (50-70 km/h) in the north and west of Marmara and the Aegean coast, and locally as strong and full-storm (80-100 km/h) in the Thrace region and around Çanakkale, it is necessary to be cautious and take precautions against negative conditions such as falling trees and poles, roof damage, and disruptions in transportation.
