The Meteorology Department and the Istanbul Governor's Office have issued warnings regarding a storm expected to affect the Marmara Region from tomorrow evening until Friday morning.
In a statement released by the Meteorology 1st Regional Directorate's Istanbul Regional Forecast and Early Warning Center, it was stated that the wind is expected to blow as a strong and occasionally gusty storm (50-80 km/h) from the south and southwest (lodos) in Istanbul, Edirne, Tekirdağ, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, and Yalova between tomorrow evening and the morning of Friday, January 19.
The statement emphasized the need to be careful and take precautions against potential negative consequences such as falling trees and utility poles, roof damage, and the risk of poisoning from stove and chimney gases due to the storm.
The Istanbul Governor's Office also issued a similar warning on its social media account, stating, "According to information received from the Meteorology Department, the wind in Istanbul is expected to blow as a strong and occasionally gusty storm between tomorrow evening and Friday morning. Caution and precautions should be taken." Additionally, the warning text from the Meteorology Department titled "Attention to strong winds and storms in our region" was also included in the post.
