A storm hit Gaziantep in the evening hours. The storm, which particularly affected the Nizip and Karkamış districts, virtually paralyzed life in some areas. In the Karkamış district, where the storm was felt, the roofs of many buildings were blown off, and some trees were toppled. The uprooted trees caused damage to surrounding houses and vehicles.

The storm also caused serious damage to pistachio trees, which are among the district's most important sources of income and are currently in their full ripening period.

Due to the storm, the fruit of many pistachio trees in rural areas was shed, and some trees were uprooted.

Giant waves also formed on the Euphrates River, which lies within the district's borders.

A citizen named Vedat Kalkan, who stated that the storm struck suddenly, said, "Get well soon to the people of Karkamış and Barak. The wind and storm hit all of a sudden. It damaged houses and trees. Pistachio trees were also damaged due to the storm. I wish the people of Karkamış a speedy recovery."
