Çorum’s İskilip district, in the village of Karaburun, a storm turned the wedding venue into a battlefield. The wedding tent, tables, and chairs were blown away by the storm.
Yaşar Bıyık, a resident of Karaburun village, hosted a meal in the village square for his son's wedding.
The wedding meal, attended by approximately 1 thousand 500 guests, was cut short due to a sudden storm, and the tent set up for the meal, along with the tables and chairs prepared for dining, were scattered around.
While some of the guests who came to the village to attend the wedding returned home, a large portion took shelter under haylofts and roofs in the village.
The wedding tent set up for the reception was torn and blown away by the storm, while the tables and chairs prepared for the meal were scattered, flying into nearby fields and gardens.
The efforts of the wedding host and the guests, who tried hard to prevent the wedding tent from blowing away, were not enough. The torn tent was split into many pieces, and some of the tables and plastic chairs were broken.
The wedding hosts, brothers Yaşar and Erdal Bıyık, said, "We were having our wedding, but the storm turned everything upside down. We had about 1 thousand 500 guests, and after the storm, everything was cut short. The wedding tent, tables, chairs, everything flew away. It is a disaster sent by God; the wedding was cut short, but there was no loss of life, we are grateful for that."
