Operations targeting CHP-run municipalities are continuing without slowing down. The Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation has been launched into the CHP-run Etimesgut Municipality over allegations of embezzlement. 4 people have been detained within the scope of the investigation.

Former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar made a statement on his social media account following the operation.

Recalling his previous claim that “corruption is being carried out busily at Etimesgut Municipality,” Şamil Tayyar stated that Etimesgut Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu had filed a compensation lawsuit against him over the matter.

Tayyar stated, “I had called out to them, saying ‘pray that there is no operation against you until my testimony is taken.’ This morning, an operation was carried out at Etimesgut Municipality, and 4 people were detained. I do not think it will be limited to this,” he said.

Continuing his statement by targeting Erdal Beşikçioğlu, Tayyar said, “One should ask Behzat Ç.: Politics is not like filming a movie, is it?”
