Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ made striking statements regarding the murder of Sinan Ateş. Commenting on the ongoing process, Özdağ stated, "It is not possible for the Sinan Ateş case to be concluded until the pressure from the AKP and MHP is lifted."

Özdağ answered questions from journalist Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu during a live broadcast on TELE1.

Speaking about Sinan Ateş, Özdağ stated that the case cannot be concluded until the pressure from the AKP and MHP is removed.

Zafer Party Chairman Özdağ noted that the Sinan Ateş case is one that wounds the public conscience, stating that a young academic who had served as the President of the Idealist Hearths (Ülkü Ocakları) was murdered by street-level dealers, and that everyone knows how the incident occurred.

"PERHAPS THE POLITICIANS NAMED WILL BE FULLY EXONERATED"

Stating that "it is not possible for this file to be truly concluded without this political structure changing," Özdağ added, "If the political pressure were lifted, perhaps the politicians named would be fully exonerated.

Those involved will also receive punishment. Public Prosecutors cannot obtain HTS records from the police. They are obtaining Sinan Ateş's HTS records," he said.

When asked whether the political pressure regarding the Ateş murder was coming from the Palace or the MHP, Özdağ stated that it was a joint pressure from the ruling bloc and that it is impossible for the case to be concluded without this pressure being lifted.
