Striking detail in the beauty center hidden camera scandal! The image archive also contains hotel and home recordings

New details have emerged in the investigation into allegations that intimate footage of customers at a beauty center in Bakırköy, Istanbul, was recorded with hidden cameras and sold via Telegram.

As part of the investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, security company owner Emrah Selim Cansever, beautician Fatma Özçalışkan, and Abdullah Çatalbaş, who is alleged to be the administrator of the Telegram channel where the images were sold, have been arrested.

According to the report by Batuhan Altınbaş and Yunus Emre Kavak from Sabah, it was stated that approximately 15,000 images were examined in the investigation file and that the recordings were not limited to the epilation rooms at the beauty center. It was alleged that the archive also contains intimate footage claimed to have been recorded in the fitting rooms of famous clothing stores, hotel rooms, bungalows, and daily rental homes.

SUSPECTS DENIED THE ACCUSATIONS

It was reported that the arrested suspects denied the accusations in their statements and shifted the responsibility onto one another. Emrah Selim Cansever argued that he did not provide services to the business, stating, "I have a company, but I did not provide any services to them. No work enters my company without an invoice and a proposal."

Cansever also suggested that the images might have been accessed as a result of an external cyberattack.

Fatma Özçalışkan, on the other hand, claimed that she had no knowledge of the hidden cameras. Claiming that she and her 17-year-old daughter were also in the image pool, Özçalışkan stated, "I am the business manager there. If I had known there was a hidden camera, I wouldn't have kept it there. I have been in this profession for 25 years. When I became suspicious of the situation, I personally removed the white 'PIR' motion sensors in the rooms. I kept these devices, which I did not know contained hidden cameras, in a box and handed them over to the police of my own volition."

It was also noted that Özçalışkan alleged that Cansever had been following her and had become obsessed with her.

It was reported that examinations of the suspects' phones revealed WhatsApp correspondence and records indicating that the installation of the "PIR" motion sensors, where the hidden cameras were allegedly placed, was carried out by Cansever at the workplace.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
