THE PROCESS LEADING TO THE ARREST REFLECTED IN THE FILE

According to the report by Arzu Kaya from Habertürk, İzzet Yıldızhan's statement and the grounds for his arrest have been entered into the case file based on information obtained during the investigation.

CONTRADICTION DETECTED BETWEEN STATEMENT AND EVIDENCE

According to information in the file, it was stated that there was a discrepancy between the statements given by Yıldızhan and the evidence obtained by the prosecutor's office. It was determined that Yıldızhan had multiple phone conversations with the individuals who helped Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu escape.

In his statement, Yıldızhan said that he was a godfather to Bilal Kadayıfçıoğlu's children and that they were from the same village.

ADMITTED TO PHONE CONVERSATIONS

According to the information obtained, Yıldızhan admitted to the phone conversations in his statement. Arguing that he did not hide anyone and did not help anyone escape, Yıldızhan stated the following:

“I also gave him suggestions in the same direction. I did not hide anyone and did not help him escape. I am an artist who has become a national figure in Turkey. I am a role model for society. Being here saddens me. I do not accept the accusations. I am also very, very sorry for the child who died in the incident. I wish such an event had not happened.”

According to information entered into the investigation file, it was stated that Yıldızhan came to Istanbul after being informed of the developments on the night of the incident. In the referral document for arrest, it was stated that Yıldızhan had many phone conversations with the person who helped Alaattin escape that night. It was reported that some of these conversations were video calls.

8-MINUTE CALL DETAIL

According to the information obtained, one of the conversations in question lasted 8 minutes. In the referral document, it was assessed that this conversation, which took place during the incident, “could not be a casual chat” and was “contrary to the ordinary flow of life.”

“ANY NEWS FROM ALAATTİN?” MESSAGE

In his statement, Yıldızhan also included his conversations with Metin Kadayıfçıoğlu. It was learned that he used the following words in his statement:

“Metin Kadayıfçıoğlu told me that Alaattin was involved in a fight. I said, ‘I hope it is nothing serious.’ Later, I called Metin a few times to find out what the incident was. Afterwards, I asked Metin via WhatsApp or SMS, ‘Is there any news from Alaattin?’”
