In the new resolution process, which MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli is the architect of and which the government calls a 'Terror-Free Turkey,' the terrorist organization PKK announced yesterday that it has dissolved itself.
New details have emerged regarding the disarmament and dissolution announcement.
According to a report by the pro-government newspaper Türkiye Gazetesi, the terrorist organization PKK, in its negotiations with state officials during the dissolution process, wanted to read its disarmament statement at the border alongside 600 terrorists.
It is claimed that this request was rejected by the government.
State officials, recalling the images from October 19, 2009, when 34 PKK members entered through the Habur border gate to surrender and approximately 50,000 people gathered in the Silopi district of Şırnak to welcome them, stated that such an attempt should not be made to prevent the new process from turning into a spectacle.
According to the information obtained, following the congress decision, the PKK prepared to invite numerous international media organizations to the Turkey-Iraq border and turn the declaration in question into a show of force.
However, in order to prevent the recurrence of the scenes witnessed in Habur in 2009, it was decided that the declaration would only be announced via digital platforms.
