Özel shared striking information about Gürlek at his party's rally in Ümraniye. Journalist Alican Uludağ highlighted the details regarding the disclosed documents.

Following Özel's proof with documents that Akın Gürlek worked as a board member at the Eti Maden company, journalist Alican Uludağ made a post on his social media account.

Stating that Gürlek was also overseeing the İBB investigation during the period he was still employed there, Uludağ used the following expressions:

"Akın Gürlek was receiving a salary from a company directly affiliated with Erdoğan while conducting the Ekrem İmamoğlu investigation.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced that Akın Gürlek was appointed as a board member to the Eti Maden Joint Stock Company in Luxembourg on November 29, 2024. Gürlek received a salary from Eti Maden until August 2025.

The date of November 29, 2024, is significant. Akın Gürlek had been appointed as the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor 1.5 months prior to this date. Eti Maden is a company affiliated with the Wealth Fund, which is chaired by Erdoğan. In other words, the salary of a member of the judiciary, who is required to be independent according to the constitution, is paid directly by the person at the head of the executive branch.

The fact that Akın Gürlek was receiving a salary from a company affiliated with Erdoğan while conducting the investigation into Ekrem İmamoğlu, Erdoğan's biggest political rival, clearly explains the entire picture.
