Striking details regarding the death of Tuana Elif Torun captured on security camera
Security camera footage of the moment 16-year-old Tuana Elif Torun lost her life after being struck by a vehicle in the Görele district of Giresun has emerged.

In the incident that occurred on March 28 near the Görele bridge on the Black Sea Coastal Road, high school student Tuana Elif Torun was severely injured when she was struck by a car driven by Adem Hasbaş while attempting to cross the road.
Torun, who received initial intervention from medical teams arriving at the scene, was taken to Giresun Training and Research Hospital. Sadly, after several days of intensive care treatment, the young girl was declared brain dead, and her family made the decision to donate her organs.

Tuana's lungs, liver, kidneys, and heart valve were transplanted to patients in different cities, offering hope to many lives.
It was reported that the driver fled the scene immediately after the accident but was apprehended and arrested by police teams shortly thereafter. Investigations into the incident revealed that the driver, Adem Hasbaş, was under the influence of alcohol at the time, and alcoholic beverages were found in the car. It was also learned that Hasbaş worked at a restaurant and that this business was linked to certain local figures previously mentioned in the region.

The footage of the accident revealed the scale of the incident. In the moments reflected on the security camera, it was seen that the car, traveling at high speed, struck Tuana Elif Torun as she emerged from a side road onto the main road, and the young girl was thrown approximately 40 meters due to the impact. It was also determined that two people in the vehicle left the area without assisting the injured girl.
The funeral ceremony took place in Görele with high attendance, and Tuana Elif Torun was laid to rest in the Cillioğlu Family Cemetery following the prayer service held at Hasan Ağa Mosque. Her mother, Nuray Torun, was overcome with grief as she embraced her child's coffin.
This tragic accident took Tuana Elif Torun, who was a victim in another ongoing investigation involving the Görele Municipality, away from life while the judicial process was still underway. Former mayor Hasbi Dede had been tried on charges of "sexual abuse of a child" following events that occurred on social media and was removed from office by the Ministry of Interior. It was stated that the judicial process regarding Dede is still ongoing.
Torun's family holds Hasbi Dede responsible for the accident.
