MOTHER AND FATHER ALSO IN THE FILE
The indictment states that the attacker Eren Bigül was under the custody of his mother and father, and that the parents were considered guarantors regarding his care, supervision, education, and ensuring he did not become harmful to society. It was noted that thanks to the facilitation and support provided by his father, Nuhver Bigül, and his mother, A.B., Bigül adopted the ideology of the ISIS armed terrorist organization and became a member of the organization.
CONDUCTED RECONNAISSANCE FOR 10 DAYS
The file states that Bigül conducted regular reconnaissance and surveillance at the Salih İşgören Police Station, where he carried out the attack, for 10 days prior to the act, between 02:00 and 03:00 at night. The indictment expresses the opinion that the mother and father participated in all the crimes committed by Bigül as "principal, moral perpetrators (instigators)."
LABELED THE STATE AS “TAGHUT”
The indictment includes that Eren Bigül began to lead a life in accordance with ISIS ideology, tried to explain the organization's ideas to his circle of friends, and labeled the Republic of Turkey as "taghut." The file also states that Bigül refused to go to school on the grounds that he was against men and women receiving the same education, and that according to ISIS ideology, he viewed soldiers, police, judges, prosecutors, and administrators who did not serve the organization as "infidels" and believed they should be killed.
BOMBS AND CARTRIDGES OBTAINED WITH FAMILY SUPPORT
The indictment states that Bigül received professional training from ISIS on how to behave during a terrorist attack and learned how to make bombs. It was reported that he obtained the materials to be used in bomb-making with the help of his mother and father, and prepared two identical hand grenades with these materials before the attack. Furthermore, it was noted that a large number of cartridges, known colloquially as "dom dom bullets" for the shotgun provided by his father, were purchased with the support of his mother and father.
SERTAB ERENER CONCERT AMONG THE TARGETS
The indictment states that in line with the action instructions he received from ISIS, Eren Bigül planned to attack the Sertab Erener concert held at the İzmir Fair starting in June 2025, any bar in Balçova, and the Salih İşgören Police Station.
