While stating that it is not mandatory for all demands to be accepted, Saral pointed to the necessity of a state order where these groups do not have to "go door to door" to make their voices heard and can find direct interlocutors.
“We must first remember loyalty”
Chief Advisor to the President Oktay Saral made evaluations regarding the demands of families of martyrs and veterans on his social media account.
Stating that the sense of loyalty should be remembered first when discussing these demands, Saral said, "Of course, not every demand has to be accepted as is. Of course, public order will be protected."
However, emphasizing that families of martyrs and veterans should not have to wear out the doors of different offices to express their demands, Saral drew attention to the importance of a state order where citizens can make their voices heard and find interlocutors.
“The issue is not one of confrontation”
Saral stated that the problems experienced should not be handled as a form of confrontation between the state and the citizen.
Saying, "The issue is not one of confrontation, but a matter of building a sincere bridge of hearts between the state and the citizen," Saral expressed that the solution lies in strengthening communication channels rather than increasing tension.
“Not raising the tension, but setting the table”
Stating that the state has sufficient institutions, offices, and means to solve problems, Saral sent a message of dialogue to the authorities.
Saral used the expressions, "Then what needs to be done is not to raise the tension, but to set the table; not to amplify the objection, but to listen to the interlocutors."
With these words, he emphasized that the demands of families of martyrs and veterans should be listened to directly and that problems should be solved through mutual communication.
“Not opposite the state, but in the place of honor in its heart”
Saral also drew attention to the special position that families of martyrs and veterans hold for the state.
Saying, "The legacies of our martyrs and our veterans are not just any community for us," Saral stated that these groups should not be positioned opposite the state, adding, "Their place is not opposite the state, but in the place of honor in its heart."
“The strongest state reflex is not to harden, but to embrace with compassion”
Reiterating his call for a solution at the end of his post, Saral argued that the power of the state should not be evaluated solely through toughness.
Using the expressions, "Sometimes the strongest state reflex is not to harden, but to embrace with compassion," Saral stated that he believes the issue in question will be resolved "with calmness, dignity, and an understanding befitting the greatness of the state."
Saral concluded his post with the words, "We believe that this issue will also be resolved as soon as possible with calmness, dignity, and an understanding befitting the greatness of our state."
