Striking photo from the summit: Erdoğan and Assad in the same frame after years

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Erdoğan posed for a "family photo" with other leaders, including Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The fact that Erdoğan is present at the joint summit with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has raised the question of whether the two leaders will hold a meeting.

In a statement made to Sputnik, sources close to Erdoğan emphasized that a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad is not included in President Erdoğan's program at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation summit in Riyadh.
