The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published a response to the statements made by the Israeli Prime Minister's Office. The Ministry stated that Israel's remarks accusing President Erdoğan are 'intended to cover up its own crimes.'
The statement from the Ministry is as follows:
"We view the statement made by the Israeli Prime Minister's Office regarding our President's meeting with the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly as an attempt to cover up the crime of genocide that Israel is committing.
Israel's accusations against our President are essentially nothing more than a manifestation of a guilty conscience.
We are also observing with concern the efforts of Israel and its supporters to discredit international courts.
Netanyahu and his government, who continue their efforts to commit genocide and set the entire region on fire, will inevitably be held accountable for the crimes they have committed in international courts.
Turkey will continue to stand by the innocent Palestinian people and all its friends and brothers in the region throughout this process."
