Strong southwesterly wind in Istanbul: Planes unable to land
Due to the strong southwesterly wind (lodos) effective in Istanbul, planes attempting to land at Istanbul Airport were forced to perform go-arounds.

The southwesterly wind and downpours, which increased in intensity during the morning hours, negatively affected air traffic. While some planes arriving at Istanbul Airport were unable to land and had to perform go-arounds, others were forced to circle in the air for a period of time.
Turkish Airlines (THY) flights TK626 from Lagos, TK775 from Muscat, TK186 from Chicago, TK6032 from Stockholm, and TK185 from Manila, which were circling in the air and subsequently reached critical fuel levels, were diverted to Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport for landing.
Planes attempting to land at Sabiha Gökçen Airport were also forced to circle in the air for a while, and short-term delays were experienced in departure flights.
Due to the strong southwesterly wind and storm affecting the Marmara Region, some planes unable to land at Sabiha Gökçen Airport and Istanbul Airport are being diverted to nearby airports.
