Successive responses to AKP's Hüseyin Çelik's harsh statements: 'Do your politics in the parties you had established'

There have been successive harsh reactions to Çelik's criticism of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the AKP's alliance with the MHP.

Chief Advisors to the President Ahmet Selim Köroğlu and Ayhan Ogan also targeted Çelik.

Ayhan Ogan stated, "If you are going to take revenge on Erdoğan, then bring it on."

"DO YOUR POLITICS IN THE PARTIES YOU HAD ESTABLISHED"

Reacting to the statements, Chief Advisor to the President Ahmet Selim Köroğlu shared the following message on his social media account: "You political remnants of the old Turkey who make statements to Serbestiyet over the March 31 results, do your politics in the parties you had established; do not wag your fingers at our President and the People's Alliance under the pretext of Mehmet Uçum."

"TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF THE AK PARTY"

Another Chief Advisor to the President, Ayhan Ogan, stated, "Mr. Hüseyin, Erdoğan received 52 percent of the vote. There is a 20-point difference between him and the AK Party. The Deva and Gelecek parties you had established have become trash. Take your hands off the AK Party. If you are going to take revenge on Erdoğan, then bring it on."

WHAT DID ÇELİK SAY?

Answering questions from Hilal Köylü of Serbestiyet, Çelik stated that the alliance formed with the MHP had pushed the AKP toward an identity-based line. According to Çelik, for this reason, the Kurdish votes coming to the AKP have hit rock bottom.

"Our Kurdish citizens were voting for the AK Party, which they definitely did not see as racist and which they saw as closer to themselves," said Çelik, adding, "But after the AK Party's alliance with the MHP, there was a very major rupture in this matter as well, and a significant portion of our Kurdish citizens began not to vote for the AK Party."

"ERDOĞAN MUST ALSO RECKON WITH HIMSELF"

Stating that the AKP must return to its factory settings to continue on its path, Hüseyin Çelik noted that it would not be enough for Erdoğan to dismiss a few deputy chairmen, ministers, or advisors.

Çelik continued: "When making self-criticism or assigning blame, whoever has the authority, their responsibility is equal to that. Therefore, the one with the most responsibility must be the one to give the most account. Here, the greatest authority belongs to Mr. Erdoğan. In this regard, I think the President needs to reckon with himself instead of just changing some names. It would not be a correct attitude to claim success and attribute failure to others."
