A notable incident occurred this evening at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) in Ankara.
A citizen climbed onto the roof of the Public Relations building and attempted suicide. Police and fire department teams were quickly dispatched to the scene, and necessary security measures were taken.

HEAD OF PARLIAMENTARY PROTECTION DEPARTMENT INTERVENES
Head of the Parliamentary Protection Department Ahmet Birtan Erol intervened to persuade the individual on the roof of the building, which also houses offices for members of parliament. Erol spoke calmly with the citizen and succeeded in convincing them to abandon the suicide attempt. Once persuaded, the individual was brought down from the roof safely.
No information has been shared yet regarding why the individual took such an action. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
