Following the orange alert issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology, heavy rainfall that began yesterday afternoon in Çanakkale became effective.
Due to the intermittent heavy rainfall, over 100 kilograms of precipitation per square meter fell. The rainfall and storm negatively affected life in the city center and districts. Puddles formed on some streets and avenues in the city center.
Due to the heavy rainfall, a stream in the Kepez town of the central district also overflowed. In the Ayvacık district, the Gülpınar-Babakale village road was closed to traffic following the heavy rainfall due to sliding leaves and mud.
On the other hand, access to homes located in the Sahil neighborhood of the Umurbey town in the Lapseki district could not be provided due to flooding.
