Summer recess cancelled for the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) will not enter its legislative recess, which was scheduled to begin on July 1 according to the normal calendar. With a decision published in the Official Gazette, it has been decided that the Parliament will continue its work throughout the summer months.

The decision regarding the Grand National Assembly of Turkey continuing its work without taking a summer recess has been published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, the Parliament, which would normally have entered its legislative recess on July 1, 2026, will continue its activities during the summer period this year.

It was stated that the decision was taken in accordance with Article 93 of the Constitution and Article 5 of the Rules of Procedure of the TBMM. As a result of the deliberations held during the 102nd session of the Parliamentary General Assembly on June 16, it was decided that the TBMM would not go into recess.

Thus, the Parliament will continue its work during the summer recess period included in the legislative calendar and will continue to discuss the regulations on its agenda.
