“Supercell” paralyzes life in Adana: Rain and wind strike the city

Following the warning from the General Directorate of Meteorology, extreme wind and rain caused by a "supercell" event in Adana yesterday around 16:00 paralyzed life. Roads turned into lakes, and homes and businesses were flooded. The city experienced a disaster after the rain, which lasted for about an hour.
The house of a woman living alone in the Akıncılar neighborhood of the central Yüreğir district could not withstand the extreme rain and wind. During the night, the porch and balcony of the house collapsed. While the elderly woman was not injured during the collapse, her relatives arrived and took her from the house. Teams initiated work at the site of the collapse during the night and took security measures.
Neighborhood resident Hatice Küpelioğlu stated that when they went outside after hearing a noise at night, they saw that their neighbor's balcony had collapsed, saying, "An elderly woman was living alone in the house. Her tenant was not home either. Thank God nothing happened to anyone."
