CHP Niğde Deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer has submitted a legislative proposal to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) to increase the raw milk premium support. Emphasizing the importance of the agricultural sector, Gürer stated that milk producers are in a difficult situation due to rising production costs.
Stating that the current support is insufficient and is causing milk producers to withdraw from production, Gürer noted that the raw milk premium support is currently provided at 50 kuruş per liter, but that it should be 1.50 liras.
Gürer stated that increasing the raw milk premium support is important for the sustainability of milk production and that he submitted the legislative proposal for this purpose.
In his speech, Ömer Fethi Gürer stated that milk producers are struggling with factors such as high costs, the effects of climate change, animal diseases, and market fluctuations, and noted, "Raw milk premium support is a critical element for milk producers. The raw milk support, which is currently 50 kuruş per liter, should be 1.50 liras. I have submitted a legislative proposal to the Speaker of the TBMM for this. Increasing the raw milk premium support is essential for the sustainability of milk production," he said.
