Support from DEM Party for those words by Bahçeli

DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan has expressed support for MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's statement, 'It is a religious duty for Turks and Kurds to love one another,' made during his speech at the 'Ziya Gökalp Symposium on the Centenary of His Passing,' organized by the Turkish Academy of Political, Social, and Strategic Research Foundation (TASAV).

The winds of peace between the MHP and the DEM Party, which began with the handshake in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), continue with a series of statements.

Speaking at an event, DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan responded to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's words: "It is a historical, religious, and political duty for both sides that Turks and Kurds love one another. If there is a Turk who does not love Kurds, they are not a Turk. If there is a Kurd who does not love Turks, they are not a Kurd."

"WE ALSO BELIEVE IT IS A DUTY"

Speaking in support of Bahçeli's words and stating that they share these sentiments, Bakırhan said:

"We also say that it is a duty for Kurds and Turks to love one another; we believe in this.

"HISTORICAL COOPERATION..."

We have also witnessed that the historical cooperation between Turks and Kurds has led to very important processes and has repeatedly brought gains to the peoples of Turkey.

Now, we want to state that this historical Turkish and Kurdish cooperation must be placed on a democratic foundation.

"WHEN THE KURD WINS, THE TURK WINS; WHEN THE TURK WINS, THE KURD WINS"

We must now get rid of the mindset that every right granted to Kurds is a loss for Turks. As Kurds win, Turks win; as Turks win, Kurds win; and as both peoples win, the peoples and laborers of Turkey win."
