Surprise development in the audio recording scandal involving Gökhan Zan: 'One person arrested'

Following the emergence of audio recordings that led the TİP to revoke Gökhan Zan's candidacy, Turgay Kocakaya, who was implicated in the investigation opened upon Zan's complaint that the recordings were fake, has been arrested.

According to a report by İsmail Saymaz from Sözcü, Turgay Kocakaya, who had a phone conversation with Gökhan Zan in which he claimed to be negotiating with AKP members on his behalf and recorded the conversation, has been arrested.

SENT TO PRISON AFTER GIVING HIS STATEMENT

The İskenderun Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which launched an investigation following Gökhan Zan's criminal complaint, sent Kocakaya to prison after taking his statement on charges of "armed threat" and "unlawful seizure of personal data."

Meanwhile, his cousin Nihal Kocakaya, who is alleged to be Kocakaya's accomplice, is also being sought.
